Fred “Don” Mincher, 80, departed this world for a greater place with His Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

He was Baptist in faith.

Don was born in Huntsville, Al., after graduation from Butler High School moved to Chattanooga. He served two years in the United States Army.  He retired after 40 years of service from Southern/Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was the past Master of Highland Park Blue Lodge and present member of East Lake Lodge #698.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed his golf trips with former Norfolk employees, and fishing trips in Florida with his son-in-law, Mike Swafford.

He was preceded in death by his father,  Fred Mincher, mother, Mattie Pearl Mincher; sister Juanita Mincher, and sister, Pat Slatton.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy Mincher, two daughters Tammy Coppinger (Gene), Donna Kelley, four grandchildren, Erica Coppinger, Holly (Justin) Millsaps, Jason (Blaine), Kelly, and Dylan Kelley,   Four Step-daughters, Kelly Flora, Judy Swaffiord (Mike), Kim Maiden, Jennifer Stewart, sister, Peggy Stansifer.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, Feb. 15, from 4–6 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.

A private  service will be held at a later date.
