It took overtime to decide the winner of the late District 4 Class A semifinal boys game at Sale Creek.   Tellico Plains survived Lookout Valley for a 59-51 win after playing to a 48-48 tie in regulation.

Tellico hit only 13 of their 40 free throws but nine of those came in overtime. 

Lookout Valley's Allen Ray hit a three with 1:07 to tie the game at 48 but neither team would score in regulation.

Technical fouls on Lookout Valley after a Tellico Plains foul resulted in four free throws which Tellico hit three to give them a 56-48 lead.  Jacobi Dixon's three were the only points for the Yellow Jackets in overtime. 

Jalen Moore had 12 points for Lookout Valley and Jaylen Bates had 10.   

Tellico was led by Piper Carter's 27 points.

Carter hit six of his nine free throws.   Tellico advances to play CSAS in the championship game Saturday night at 8:30.

The top seeded CSAS boys took care of business as Cahlib and Hollis Edwards combined for 45 points in the Patriots 73-40 win over Copper Basin. 

CSAS jumped out to a 23-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and outscored Copper Basin 38-21 in the second half. 

Cahlib Edwards had 27 points and Hollis had 18.  CSAS hit 10 three pointers including four for Cahlib and three for Hollis. 

Copper Basin will play Lookout Valley in the consolation game at 5:30. 

On the girls side, top seeded Tellico Plains beat host Sale Creek 65-24 in one semifinal.

In the other semifinal, Lookout Valley's Rainey Barber scored 21 points in their 48-26 win over CSAS.  Jalisa Sanders had 13 for Lookout Valley.  CSAS was led by Deyonna Lansden and Niya McGee with eight points each.

Lookout Valley will play Tellico Plains for the district championship on Saturday at 7 p.m.

CSAS at Sale Creek will play in the consolation game on Saturday at 4 p.m.
