Andrew “Andy” Murphy Egan, 90, died February 11, 2019. 

He was born in Chattanooga to the late John Henry and Katherine Walsh Egan.  He graduated from Notre Dame High School and the University of Chattanooga. He earned the World War II Victory Medal and also served in the Korean War. He later was with NASA where he was part of the Delta Operations Team involved in launch operations.  

 Survivors include two nephews, John Kevin (A. Faye) Duffy and David P. (Cathy H.) Duffy, and a niece, Mary A. Duffy (Gary Higbee) as well as several great nephews and a great niece.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors with Father Jim Vick officiating.

Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel.
