Hillary Justin Bowman, 38, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.  She would like you to know that she has finished her life here on earth, but that it was a life of love, joy and struggles, which she balanced with style, grace and a quiet strength.

Hillary was born in Saudi Arabia and was the second child of William and Mary Brock.  She spent her early years in Houston, Tex., and moved with her family to Signal Mountain in the early 1990’s.  It was there that she met her future husband, Courtney Bowman, and together they began raising their three children; Casey, Lilly, and Izzy.  She was always strong in spirit and a fighter who faced obstacles bravely and with conviction.  Hillary looked forward to each day with her family and friends and never complained when faced with the challenges of her long illness.  Her fighting spirit was an inspiration to her family and those who knew her.

She was a graduate of Red Bank High School and worked as a CNA at Memorial Hospital, Alexian Village and was also a private caregiver.

Hillary is survived by her husband of 14 years, Michael Courtney Bowman; children, Lillian Grace, Isabelle Rose and Casey Patrick; parents, William Brock of Houston, Tex., and Mary Brock of Signal Mountain, Tn.; sisters, Marlys Brock of Houston, Tex. and Abby (Tommy) Duff of Signal Mountain; brother, Alex (Haley) Brock of Atlanta, Ga.; in-laws, Helen Brell and Samuel C. Miles; sister-in-laws, Erin (Matthew) Bowman Corcoran and Eilish Flannery of Signal Mountain,  brother-in-law, Ian Flannery of Chattanooga; close friends, Jordan Holder Camp and Brandy Morgan as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

We were given the gift of Hillary in our lives and have reluctantly given her back.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 11-2 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 1716 Anderson Pike, Signal Mountain, Tn. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m with Rev. Joseph Kuzhupil officiating.  Burial will be held at the St. Augustine Columbarium at a later date.

Arrangements are by Turner Funeral Home, Hwy 58 Chapel, 423-622-3171
