Sherman Greene
Sherman Lee Greene, 83, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
Sherman was born in McMinn County on July 28, 1935 a son of the late Luther and Virgie Greene. He was retired from Duracell and enjoyed fishing and mowing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ellarene Greene and second wife Joyce Greene, daughter Mary Ella Greene, and six brothers Tom, Harold, June, Charles, Ray and Lawrence.
Sherman leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters Linda Allmon and her husband Ronald and Cathy Saylor and her husband, Jimmy of Delano, one sister, Jean Atchley of Riceville, two brothers, Jim Greene and Ted Greene (Helen) both of Riceville, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandson, one step daughter, Judy Dover, two stepsons, Charlie Scoggins and Donald Cartwright (Debbie), numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Monday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, with the Reverend Josh Taylor officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-7 p.m.
The interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 9:30 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Alan Winkler, Brian Allmon, Jacob Allmon, Nickolas Lewis, Bryce Lyles and Drew Lyles serving as pallbearers.
