Trudy Masic
Gertrude K. Masic, or Trudy, as her friends liked to call her, passed away at age 98 on February 15, 2019 at Life Care Center of Hixson. She was lovingly known as Oma by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born in Salzburg, Austria on March 31, 1920. She emigrated to the United States in 1955 with her second husband, Drago R. Masic and her two children Peter C. Masic and Kristine A. Kansa (Masic). Her previous husband and the father of her children was August Gautsch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Leopold Haidenthaler, her brother, Leopold Haidenthaler, her first husband, August Gautsch, her second husband, Drago R. Masic and her daughter-in-law Dainy G. Masic.
She is survived by her son, Peter C. Masic Sr. of Hixson, Kristine A. (Dr. Edward) Kansa of Livermore, Ca., grandchildren, Dana K. Masic of Chattanooga, Peter C. (Hannah) Masic Jr. of Signal Mountain, Dr. Eric C. (Dr. Sarah) Kansa of Berkeley, and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie M. Masic, Helena A. Kansa and Aneliese P. Kansa.
The family will receive friends at St Jude Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Monday, Feb. 25.
Funeral mass will be noon on Monday at St Jude Catholic Church.
