Cleveland State fell 12-8 to Gordon State on Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams traded runs through the first few innings, and Cleveland State took a 3-2 lead in the fourth. However, it was a big 10-run fifth and sixth inning for the Highlanders that did the Cougars in.

3B Rhett Baldwin continued his tear of late, recording two more RBI on his 2-for-5 afternoon.

2B Andrew Carpenter was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. Starting P Justin Morris had a great game as well, allowing just two ER and recording five strikeouts in 4.0 IP.

The Cougars will open their conference slate on Friday with a series at Chattanooga State. First pitch of their doubleheader on the 22nd is set for 1:00 ET.
