UTC Tennis Team Hosts Carson-Newman Tuesday

  • Monday, February 18, 2019
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s tennis team is back on the court on Tuesday, Feb. 19, hosting Carson-Newman.  Match time is set for Noon at the Guerry Tennis Center at the Baylor School.  This is a time and location change from the original schedule due to a rainy forecast in the Chattanooga area.

Despite the time and location adjustment, live scoring is still on for Tuesday’s match.  A link is available on the women’s tennis schedule page on GoMocs.com.

Chattanooga is riding a four-match winning streak and takes a 4-2 overall record into the week.  Senior Caroline Hall and sophomores Emma Van Hee and Bogdana Zaporozhets are all on four-match runs in singles play.

Van Hee and senior Delaney Edwards have won four in a row at No.
1 doubles, while freshman Lilly Holmes and senior Annie Tarwater are 2-0 at No. 2.

Carson-Newman is 3-2 overall, including wins against Sewanee (6-3), UVa-Wise (7-0) and Christian Brothers (7-0).  The Eagles are NCAA Division II members of the South Atlantic Conference.

UTC is 2-0 all-time against Carson-Newman, but they have not faced the Eagles since a 7-2 win on April 13, 1994, Chattanooga.

The Mocs also have a dual against USC-Upstate on the schedule for Saturday, Feb. 23.  With the potential for a large amount of rain in Chattanooga over the next week, be sure to check back to GoMocs.com for confirmation on time, location and coverage of Saturday’s match against the Spartans.
