Scott Golden, chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party, announced the hiring of Heather Trotter as the new press secretary.
Ms. Trotter is a native of Franklin, Tn., and a graduate of Baylor University where she received her bachelor’s degree in journalism-public relations. She previously worked in the music business as Publicity Manager and Director of Publicity for 117 Entertainment Group, where she worked on campaigns for country music stars such as Mickey Gilley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Randy Travis.
As press secretary, Ms.
Trotter will manage all media relations and press for the Tennessee Republican Party.
“I am excited to add Heather to our team leading our media relations efforts as we look toward the 2020 elections," said Chairman Golden.
Ms. Trotter takes over the communications role from Candice Dawkins who is now operations director. Michael Sullivan will continue in his role as executive director.
"Michael, Candice and Heather are all committed to strengthening and growing the Republican Party in Tennessee," said Chairman Golden. "With this talented staff, I am confident that we will continue to build on our electoral success across the state."
