Lifelong Chattanoogan Was U.S. Marine Veteran

Ronald Dean Smith, 65, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a United States Marine Corps veteran.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Opal Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Ronnie (Rachel) Smith, Isaac Smith and his girlfriend Bobbie Brewer, Jonathan Pitner and Jeremiah Pitner; daughters, Lynn Duncan and Misty Smith; brother, Donnie Smith; eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 3-7 p.m. in the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58.

There will be a graveside ceremony held on Monday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
