Robert Emilio Baker Charged In Fire At Couch's BBQ On Feb. 12

Robert Emilio Baker has been charged in connection with a fire at Couch's Barbeque at 8307 Old Lee Highway on Feb. 12.

Baker, 28, was charged with reckless burning and criminal trespass.

The fire was started in a building used for smoking and cooking meat. The fire was started in the fire pit using wood, paper, plastic and auto parts from the building.

The fire damaged the walls, roof and a window air conditioner.

Police said a man wearing a black top was seen standing next to the smokehouse building. By the time the person who saw him had turned around and returned he was gone.

Baker was arrested for burglary and vandalism less than a mile away while the fire was still being investigated.

He was questioned about the fire and admitted setting it. He said it got out of control and he could not put it out.
