John Stutz
John Stutz Jr., 77 of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on February 3, 2019, peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
John had a mechanical engineering degree from Tennessee Tech University. He served in the Army National Guard for 20 plus years retiring as a Major from the 196th FA Brigade. After working 20 plus years at Royal Desoto where he met the love of his life (Rose), he found his calling in home building and land development via his own company Choo-Choo Homes Inc. in which he retired after 30 plus years.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Stutz Sr. and mother, Ruby (Smith) Stutz; father-in-law, W.T Buckner, mother-in-law, Grace Buckner, and brother-in-law, Kenny Marsh.
John is survived by his wife, Rose Stutz of 39½ years, his son, Tracy Smith (Candy Smith), his daughter, Brenda Stutz, his brothers, Charlie Stutz (Connie Stutz), Greg Stutz (Charline Stutz) and David Stutz (Angie Stutz); four grandchildren, Lauren and Cassidi Smith, Mackenzie Gamble and Kendra Jolly; six great-grandchildren, with a seventh on the way as well as two sisters-in-law; Kathy Phillips (Chip Phillips) and Mary Marsh along with numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Sparky.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hamilton Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Cox officiating.
Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
