Virginia “Kay” Salazar, 73, of Decatur, passed away February 6, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Cleveland ,the daughter of Kenneth and Irene Griggs. She had been a resident of Decatur for the past 26 years coming from California. She loved to be outdoors working in the flower garden and keeping the house clean. She was a Methodist and had attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irene Elliot; a brother, Jimmy Elliot; a daughter, Tammy Salazar; and a son-in-law, Jason Odin.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Louis Salazar of Decatur; a son Sean Salazar (Alexis) of Athens; daughters, Jamie Sue Plumber (Joe) and Angela Odin, all of California; a brother, Tommy Elliott of North Carolina; a sister, Clara Lee Hopper of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; two grandsons, Lance and Jason; a granddaughter, Nikki; a great-grandson, Rylan; a nephew, Kenneth Elliott; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Elliott.
The family will receive friends at Bowers Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Moore officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
