Joe Nelson Brundidge, Jr., 71, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 8, 2019. 

He attended Booker T. Washington High School where he was an active member of the band and an accomplished trombonist.  He later attended Chattanooga State Technical College and studied Medical Record Technology.  Joe was employed for several years as a master machinist at Stowers Machinery Company.  He was known by his siblings as “Wolfe” and “Joe Jr.”  He enjoyed friends and family gatherings, where he often displayed his love for cooking.  Joe was an avid reader and was a very knowledgeable man.  He loved a good debate.  Joe joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church and several years later, he was ordained into the ministry. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elizabeth Ann Brundidge, Sr.; brothers, Reverend Michael C. Brundidge, and Bernard Brundidge; sisters, Brenda Brundidge Darwin, and Sandra Brundidge. 

Survivors include his fiancé, Geraldine Sheppard; daughters, Serita Brundidge Walker of Cleveland, TN, and Faustine Brundidge Norwood of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Quentin Brundidge, Patrick Walker, and Christopher Brown; brother, Wayne Brundidge of Chattanooga; sister, Gwendolyn (Melvin) Shorter, and Laverne Brundidge, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

He will lie in state on Friday, March 15, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronald Cook, Sr. as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
