East Hamilton Beats Mustangs, 12-5, To Go 2-0 In 5-3A Baseball

East Hamilton scored eight runs in the second inning late Wednesday night and went on to rock Walker Valley, 12-5, in District 5-3A baseball action at Walker Valley.

The Hurricanes (2-0, 2-0 district) completed the season’s opening home-and-home series after beating the Mustangs, 5-1, on Isaac Moulds’ three-hitter on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s winning pitcher was Walker O’Rear (1-0), who allowed five hits while striking out four and walking two. Noah Pridmore picked up his first save with 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He fanned eight, walked one and gave up two hits.

Walker Valley’s Ethan Hailey (0-1) took the loss.

The Hurricanes’ Jack Stone went 2 for with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Blake Hedrick was 2 for 3 with a double and Bradley Garland drove in two runs.

The Mustangs’ Harrison Price had two hits in four at-bats, Parker Caldwell was 2 for 4 with one RBI and Gunner Reece 1 for 2 and one RBI.
