Dalton State Lady Roadrunners Hold 12 Shot Lead After 1st Round

Dalton State shot an opening round (+20, 308) on Thursday at the LTU Spring Break Invitational and hold a 12-shot lead after one round of play at Robert Trent Jones Grand National in Opelika, Ala.

#24 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) (+32, 320) is in second, followed by #6 Cumberlands (Ky.) (+39, 327) in third. #17 Morningside (Iowa) (+46, 334) is in fourth with Indiana-East (+54, 342) rounding out the top-5.

Every Lady Roadrunner is in the top 16 overall with All-American Katie Dalton and junior Hannah Gasaway leading the way.
Both players fired a (+3, 75) and are tied for the lead with Bo Park of Lindsey Wilson. In a tie for fourth with Lucia Pena of Cumberlands is All-American Isabel Rijos. Rijos trails the leaders by three strokes after a round of (+6, 78).

Freshman Cameron Daniel is tied for seventh with three other golfers after a round of (+8, 80), while Haejin Choe posted a score of (+9, 81) to tie for 11th. Katelyn Skiffen, playing as an individual, carded a score of (+12, 84) and sits in a tie with Maria Nava of Morningside.

The Lady Birds will look to close the tournament out and collect their first win of the season when they compete tomorrow, March 15 in the final round of the LTU Spring Break Invitational at Robert Trent Jones Grand National in Opelika, Ala.
