Candle Linked To Sunday Night Fire On Tee Pee Drive

  • Monday, March 18, 2019
Chattanooga firefighters responded around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday to a house fire at 4201 Tee Pee Drive.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with several fire companies and upon arriving on the scene, had the fire out in roughly 25 minutes. No injuries were reported.

Battalion Chief Nate Middlebrooks said the fire appears to have started in the living room.
The resident told firefighters that he left a candle burning unattended in that room. The man said he tried several times to extinguish the fire himself before giving up and calling 911.

Chief Middlebrooks said the loss was estimated at $30,000. The cause of the fire is being ruled accidental.
