Chattanooga Christian School announced on Wednesday the hiring of Warren Smith as head boys soccer coach.  Smith replaces Jimmy Weekly who coached at CCS the last two years before taking a position with the Chattanooga Red Wolves.  Gene Nelson was named interim coach for this Spring after Weekly took the position at the Red Wolves.

Smith returns to CCS after coaching and teaching at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis.  Smith coached at CCS previous to his time in St. Louis and led the team to a state title in 2001.

Smith played soccer at Covenant College from 1983-1986.

"CCS is excited to see Warren Smith return to Chattanooga Christian School," CCS athletic director Daniel Russel said.  "He will be a huge asset in the classroom and on the field. He will help us build a soccer curriculum 4th grade through 12th grade which will enable us to build an impressive soccer program upon the well poured foundation that already exists here. Warren loves the Lord and is has had an impressive soccer career as both a player and coach."
