Terry Rex Hampton, 68, of Chickamauga, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
He was a lifelong resident of Walker County and resided on his small farm outside of Chickamauga for the last 40 years. Rex was retired from the telecommunications industry and spent the last several years enjoying a peaceful retirement. A decorated Army veteran, he had been stationed at the Ranger Training Camp in Dahlonega, GA, and was later deployed to Vietnam where he saw combat action.
He was preceded in death by his children’s mother, Millie; daughter, April Shea Hampton; father, Allen Hampton; mother, Mary Frances Harris; and brothers, Charles Hampton and Steve Harris.
He is survived by his son, Matt Hampton of Chickamauga; sister, Tina Harris of Chickamauga; brothers, David (Sharon) Hampton of LaFayette and Richard Hampton of Fort Oglethorpe; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral service and interment will be private.
