The Emmy Haney House CAC Announces 1st Annual Talk About: Creating Conversations About Child Abuse

The Children’s Advocacy Center: The Emmy Haney House will present their inaugural Talk About: Creating Conversations About Child Abuse on Saturday, April 6. The event will begin at the their facility, 5705 Uptain Road in Chattanooga in the FJC Community Room at 9 a.m.

"After the talk, then the real effort begins," organizers said. "Teams of volunteers, led by law enforcement, will go door to door and distribute door hangers with life-saving information regarding resources to prevent, educate and report child abuse.  

"Our goal is simple: get the right information to the right people at the right time to help children.

"For this inaugural event, we hope to have more than 100 volunteers helping place informational door hangers in neighborhoods around Chattanooga. Gather your friends, family and co-workers to join us."

Schedule: 

9 a.m. – Opening remarks and breakfast

9:30 a.m. – Team assignments and distribution of packets (routes, teams, door hangers)

9:40 a.m. – Teams will begin walking their routes

11:30 a.m. – Meet back at the CAC for a tour of the center and lunch
