- The Covenant women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to region foe Berry, 9-0, on Friday afternoon on a windy day at the Covenant Tennis Complex.
The loss snapped a three-match win streak for Covenant (3-6). Berry (6-0) remains undefeated on the season.
The visiting Vikings took a 3-0 match lead after sweeping doubles. Covenant's No. 1 duo of Esther Eddy and Margo Koby challenged Berry's Allison Ivey and Kathryn Barker, but fell 8-3.
In singles play, Berry clinched the match on Barker's 6-0, 6-0 win over Koby at the No.
2 spot. Eddy played even with Ivey at the top flight, but would ultimately fall 6-4, 6-2.
Covenant will host USA South foe Berea on Saturday at 12 p.m. Before the match, the Scots will recognize seniors Masha Lanska from the women's team and Trey Wood from the men's squad for Senior Day. That recognition will begin around 11:45 a.m.
