Stacy Reid

Stacy Reid, 40, of Chattanooga, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 11, 2019.

Stacy was born to Don and Carol Reid on December 25, 1978, in Farmington, Mo. In 1997 he graduated from Highland Academy in Portland, Tn. Stacy attended Southern Adventist University but graduated from UT Martin with degrees in English and international business. While he was in college, Stacy spent a year serving as a missionary in the 1,000 Missionary Movement in China. In 2005 Stacy married his loving wife, Jessica Suzanne Howard. He later earned a B.S.N. from Union University in Jackson, Tn. During the time Stacy worked as a travel nurse, he and Jessica lived in Texas, Florida, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. In 2012 Stacy and Jessica were blessed with their daughter, Eliana Lisette.

Stacy was known for his quick wit, compassion, sharp discernment, and devotion to his family, friends, and his heavenly Father. He approached all of life with a contagious sense of humor. He could turn anger into laughter. Though he was limited by challenging health issues, Stacy faced adversity with patience and without complaint. His own struggles enabled him to be an attentive and compassionate health care provider. He spent much of his personal time helping others navigate through their own struggles. As a loving and loyal husband and father, Stacy enjoyed time with his family working puzzles, walking in nature, singing, and playing imaginatively with his daughter. Stacy also loved canoeing the rivers of the Ozark Mountains, country drives, music, and holiday family gatherings. Stacy was an active member of East Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Stacy is survived by his beloved wife, Jessica and daughter, Eliana Lisette; mother, Carol Reid and stepfather, Harley (Steve) Hollis; sister, Robin Reid (Brent Page); mother-in-law, Rosalie Howard; brother-in-law, Jason Howard; sister-in-law Jennifer Howard Nichols (Brian); niece Brooklynn Nichols; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Don Reid; maternal grandparents, Reverend Kenneth and Lois Byrum; paternal grandparents, Eugene and Arlena Reid; and father-in-law, Pastor Rick Howard.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 31, at 1 p.m. at East Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2105 Dabney Drive, East Ridge, TN 37412.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/) or Outpost Centers International (https://outpostcenters.org/) would be appreciated.
