Annie Evelyn Stanfield, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, March 22, 2019, at Chatsworth Health Care, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Evelyn was born July 11, 1934 in Ellijay, Ga., the daughter of Milton Chester and Clara Bell Mulkey Cochran.  Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Doil J. Stanfield; a son, Danny Stanfield; a grandson, Daniel Morgan; a brother, David Cochran; and sisters, Lula Davis, Patsy Corn and Jean Jackson. 

Evelyn was retired from Georgia Sample Book. She was a very hard working woman who lived her life for her family.  She was very sweet, very loving and always spoke the truth.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Mary Stanfield, Ronnie Stanfield all of Chatsworth, Ga., Wayne and Gina Stanfield of Varnell, Ga., Chris and Chrissy Stanfield of Dalton, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and  Freddie Jackson of Dalton, Ga.; special friend she thought of as a daughter, Charlotte Jackson of Dalton, Ga.; brothers, Douglas Cochran of Ellijay, Ga., and Lonnie Cochran of Dalton, Ga.; sister, Dianne Brooks of Rocky Face, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; also one great granddaughter on the way and one great-great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Annie Evelyn Stanfield will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Gordon Delashmitt and Reverend Gerald Foster officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with her sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
