Jackson Oswalt Visits TVA Sequoyah

Saturday, March 9, 2019

TVA Sequoyah’s plant manager, Scott Hunnewell, read about 14-year-old Jackson Oswalt’s feat of achieving nuclear fusion at age 12, making him the youngest person to ever achieve nuclear fusion. Mr. Hunnewell extended an invitation to Oswalt and his family, who live in Memphis, to tour Sequoyah and meet with members of the nuclear team.

Sequoyah’s Lead Operations Instructor Vinnie Passalacqua led Jackson Oswalt and his parents on a tour of Sequoyah’s training center prior to his plant tour.

Jackson also shared a presentation on his work and how he built his device. He then had an open discussion lunch with TVA engineers.

Jackson was able to use hands on action to manipulate plant controls, simulating nuclear plant operation.

This 21 age requirement would not include ammunition ... (click for more)
