Southern Adventist University’s School of Social Work, in partnership with the Chattanooga Police Department, will host a poverty simulation training exercise on Monday, April 22.

Open to the community, this interactive, immersion experience will help participants gain a new understanding of the challenges facing individuals living on low income.

Held from 1-4 p.m. at The Well, 1800 Rossville Ave., this event will also provide participants with the skills necessary to plan, promote, and facilitate a poverty simulation in their own communities. Based on real people and their daily realities, this simulation is not a game.

Registration is required for this free event. Social workers can earn continuing education credit for a fee of $10.
