Magge Gayler, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was reunited in heaven with her husband, Duane Gayler; parents, Marvin and Lillie Jones; brother, Marvin Jones, Jr.; and son, Tommy Gayler. Magge was born in Chattooga County, Ga. Feb. 5, 1930 and died after a brief illness April 12, 2019.
Magge and Duane were co-owners of the former Motor Parts Company in Summerville. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and most of all her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Randy Gayler; daughter-in-law, Sharon Gayler; grandson, Matt Gayler (Lora); sisters-in-law, Nelda Smith and Bobbye Jones; niece, Debbie Gayler; nephews, Marty Jones, Bob Jones (Beth), Brad Jones (Terri), Aunt Margaret Henderson; and several other nieces and nephews. Magge was blessed with her Beersheba Presbyterian Church family, Wesson family, Alex and Sally Hosmer, Betty Dotson and daughter Christy.
A memorial service will be held at Earle Rainwater Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Beersheba Presbyterian Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The family is very grateful to everyone who called, visited, or offered prayers during her illness.
