Ray “Bo” Cross, 83, of Benton, passed away at his residence on Friday, April 12, 2019. He liked to work, farm and be outside.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Cross; infant daughter, Cathy Lynn Cross; step-children, Billy, Connie Debbie, Brent and Mary Jane Hawkins; parents, O. R. “Long” and Ruby Leona Chatman Cross; brother, Fred Cross; and sister, Betty Jean Cross.
He is survived by his children, Marty (Jeni) Cross, Cindy (Eddie) Wilcox, Tina (Donald) Higdon and Gary Hawkins; grandchildren, Mason (Misty) Cross, Avery Cross, Noah Cross, Lydia Cross, Anthony Higdon, Brandi Hawkins and Trevor Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Declan Cross, Emily Rotan and Ian Higdon; sisters, Carolyn (Elmer) Blackwell, of Kingsport and Judy (Winston) Perian, of Etowah; brothers, Bobby Cross, Willie (Peggy) Cross, of Benton; several nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 15 in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Minister Marty Cross officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, April 15 in the chapel of the funeral home prior to the service.
