Rev. Glenn C. Morgan, 89, of Signal Moutain, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. 

Glenn was born in Oxford, La., on August 1, 1929. He was raised in Marshall, Texas, where he met his one and only sweetheart, Dorothy Hartley. They married in 1950 and after the death of their first child in 1953, moved to Chattanooga. Glenn attended Tennessee Temple College, earning his Bachelor of Arts and Theology degrees in 1958.

During the late 1940s and early 1950s Glenn served in the Army National Guard.  In 1954 Glenn helped found Community Baptist Church on Signal Mountain, where he served as pastor for over 50 years with Dot at his side. Glenn had a deep abiding faith in Jesus and loved ministering to all in his church, community and beyond.

In 1968 Glenn helped start WDYN Christian Radio. He served 42 years as their chief engineer.  Glenn also worked at Bohr Electronics and Morgan & Etter TV.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy “Dot” Emily Morgan; infant son, Kenneth Lee Morgan; parents, Howeth and Effie Morgan; and brothers, Bill and Marion Morgan.

Survivors include daughters, Glenda (Paul) Stetson of Metz, France; Joy (Joey) Akridge of Ringgold; and Susan (Joey) Cross of Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Rob (Caira) Stetson, Carrie (Bill) Zhang, Becky (Pascal) Grenade, Christina (Brian) Johnson, Kimberly (Robert) Dudley;  and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Community Baptist Church, 2016 Corral Road, Signal Mountain with Buddy Nichols, Tom Sneed, and Pastor Mark Miller officiating.  Burial will be in Algoma Cemetery in Marshall, Tx.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church.
