Joe Willingham
Joe L. Willingham, 82, was born November 26, 1936 to Fred and Jessie Willingham. He passed on April 1, 2019, at Dalton Place/Standifer Place.
He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga and a very well-known baseball player and was employed by the City of Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jessie Willingham; brother, William Willingham; sister, Freddie Mae Willingham; wife, Barbara Joyce Glover Willingham; children, Donnie Moore, and Ronnie (Deborah) Carter.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Lucille (Ernest) Coleman; children, Micheal (Ruby) Douglas, Diane Tyus (Campbell) of Augusta Georgia, Adrian (Greta) Hayes, Nolan Rivers, Kevin (Angela) Willingham of Miami, and Derryk Willingham; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, loving niece, Judy (Calvin) Coleman Toney; special friends, Anthony “Tic” Cunningham and Dillard “Dank” Hawkins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
