Chuck Kimsey
Charles (Chuck) S. Kimsey, Sr., 88, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
He was the son of the late Johnny and Margaret Kimsey, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kimsey.
Chuck was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Dalton and a deacon at Maple Street Baptist Church in Cleveland. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 112 and was a loving father and friend.
He is survived by his daughter, Alice A. Kimsey; son and daughter-in-law, Charles (Chuck) S. Kimsey Jr. and Virna; adopted children, Sandy Town and Frank Strickland; grandson, Greyson D. Kimsey; honorary sister, Gloria Castro; sisters-in-law, Betty Lee and Nancy Miller; brother-in-law, Blaine “Peanut” Lawson; nieces, Becky Calhoun and Lori Lawson; and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Dalton with Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service in the Church Atrium. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
