Lucille M. Spain Green, age 101, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at her residence.
A Summerville, Ga. native, she was born to the late Joe and Maude Ash Spain on Aug. 9, 1917. Mrs. Green was the oldest current member of Summerville First Baptist Church, a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, was retired from the sewing department of Best Mfg. Company, and preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Green on Dec. 19, 2007.
Surviving are daughter and spouse, Nancy and Dave Crowe; grandson and wife, Shane and Jana Crowe; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Colin, Addie, Chase, and Grace Crowe; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Mason, Rev. Doyle Waters, and Brother Sean Wegener officiating, interment in Summerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Alan Green, Douglas Stephens, Ronnie Stephens, Stan Reynolds, Greg Farrell, and Don Hayes. Honorary pallbearers are the Fellowship Sunday School Class of Summerville First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
