Martin Lester, a Chattanooga immigration attorney, will speak to the JFK Club’s first quarterly meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. on May 2 at the downtown Library.
Mr. Lester will talk about immigration issues facing the United States and their impact on Chattanooga. As part of his presentation he will answer immigration-related questions and lead any ensuing discussion on the subject. The focus will be on topics related to immigration laws, not necessarily any political issues.
The first topic will consider who is a U.S.
citizen at birth, and whether children are citizens if their parents are in the United States illegally.
The second topic will focus on a new Tennessee law against “sanctuary cities” and how that law affects our community.
