  • Thursday, April 25, 2019
Covenant men's golf senior Marshall Kent was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team, as the conference released its season awards on Thursday.

All awards are voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Kent, a senior from Milton, Ga., was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team.
The senior has pulled together a career year in the 2018-19 season to help lead the Scots back to the USA South Tournament. Kent has a scoring average of 76.94, second-best on the team, and has a pair of top-10 finishes in 17 total rounds. He carded a career-best tying 70 at the Piedmont Fall Invitational earlier in the season and has three rounds at or below par.

Huntingdon, ranked No. 2 in the nation, took home all three major awards in the USA South. Drew Mathers was named Player of the Year, Carson Whitton was the Rookie of the Year, and head coach Dave Schreyer earned Coach of the Year honors.

Covenant continues play in the USA South Tournament, beginning on Thursday at the Highland Country Club in LaGrange, Ga.
