More than 150 job seekers had the opportunity to meet some of Chattanooga’s top employers during a job fair hosted by Urban League of Greater Chattanooga today.
More than 30 area businesses participated in the event aimed at connecting Chattanoogans to well-paying jobs in industries including technology, skilled trades, office support, healthcare, government, retail and hospitality.
“One of our priorities as an organization is getting Chattanooga back to work,” said James McKissic, vice president and chief operating officer of Urban League.
“Our organization has helped hundreds of Chattanoogans find employment through access to career advisors and technology, both of which make the job search easier.”
Aerotek, City of Chattanooga, Convergys, Chattanooga State, Express Employment and Goodwill Industries were among the businesses represented at the job fair.
“Our corporate sponsors always look forward to this bi-annual event because of the diverse pool of candidates it offers,” added Mr. McKissic.
The Urban League’s Workforce Development department is always looking for ways to connect job seekers to employment opportunities, officials said. For more information, call 423-756-1762.
