Electric Bike Specialists, 45 E. Main St., Suite 104, will also be allowed to sell beer with a license that it received on Thursday. The business is adding a co-op space where people can work on their bikes. Now they will be able to enjoy a beer while doing it.

The occupancy level including employees is just 15 and owner Garnet Caldwell was warned that if a customer has too much to drink and leaves on a bike, he would be subject to the same conditions that apply to DUI or Public Drunk for people leaving in a car.

Ed Vickrey, Jr. was approved for a consumer beer license for 5 Star Cigar Bar and Craft Beer, 5425 Highway 153, Suite 117. The cigar and craft beer bar has an occupancy level of about 50. There is no kitchen but pre-packaged food will be sold. Opening is planned for May 4.

Ashish Chaudhari, who owns and runs three other convenience stores in Chattanooga, was given a carry-out beer permit for Kanku’s #11 at 7018 Shallowford Road. The tenant that has been leasing the property is leaving and Mr. Chaudhari said that improvements are needed in order to put the Kanku’s name on it. He will now make the upgrades and run the gas and convenience store.
