Maelene B. Crutcher was born in this city on April 1, 1934, and departed this life journey on Thursday May 9, 2019. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs.  Willie Mae Braham and father Mr. John Branham, Sr and, one brother, John Branham, Jr. 

Mrs. Crutcher accepted Christ at an early age and a faithful and dedicated member of St. Elmo Missionary Baptist. A graduate of Howard High School and attended Zion College (UTC) for two years.  She was a  devoted, loving mother,  and a faithful woman of God in the community, schools foster grandparent program, Bible teacher, Gospel singer and a prayer warrior. 

Left to cherish her precious memories are her beloved children, Carlos D. Crutcher, Tekelia (Mack) Kelly and Dorothea (Walter) Johnson, six grandchildren, Lametra Sanderfur, Romeatrius Moss, Sharae Moore, Rachel, Caleb and Abraham Kelly, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. 

Mrs. Crutcher will lie in state from 12-8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at the funeral home. 

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 14, at St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Church officiating.
