Preparations Underway For 1st Ever Running Of The Signal Mountain "Firecracker" Mile In Old Town

This is the Centennial Year for the Town of Signal Mountain and the Firecracker Mile will start on historic James Boulevard and follow the parade route on tree lined streets filled with spectators ending at the entrance to the SMGCC.  The race will be chip timed and the finish line will be managed by Chattanooga Track Club.

Events around the Firecracker Mile on the 4th of July will include:
9:45 a.m. -Re-Opening of historic James Boulevard (tbc)
10 a.m. - Signal Mountain Firecracker Mile
10 a.m. - 4th of July Parade in Old Town
11 a.m. - Lions Club BBQ
Dusk - Signal Mountain Fireworks

"We are in need of partners and volunteers," officials said. "Partnership levels depend on the level of contribution."

The Signal Mountain "Firecracker" Mile will offer a partner the opportunity to share their business/services at the starting line and the finish. All partners will be represented on the race t--shirt, with logo and link on both SignalMountainMile.com and SignalMountainParade.com and any race day signs.  "Your business will also have the opportunity to participate in the Signal Mountain 4th of July Parade in Old Town which generally draws large, local crowds," officials said. 

The Signal Mountain "Firecracker" Mile supports the SM Social Services and the MACC. 

“Runners will enjoy a wonderful setting, large crowds and a fast race as the prelude to the Signal Mountain Fourth of July Parade in Old Town.” 

The Firecracker Mile registration is $15 until June 20 and includes a race t-shirt. Registration for the Firecracker Mile is at RunSignUp.com/SignalMountainMile.
