The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a carjacking that resulted in serious bodily injury to the victim.
Chattanooga Police responded to the 5300 block of Dorsey Street Tuesday, April 23, at 10:40 p.m. on a reported carjacking and assault. When the victim attempted to reclaim the vehicle the suspects quickly accelerated, dragging the victim, running over him, and mutilating his foot, said police. The victim was transported by Hamilton County EMS and was hospitalized for treatment of the extensive bodily injuries sustained during the incident.
After an investigation, CPD robbery detectives identified the potential suspects as Jaden Mason, 16, and McCayla Watt, 17. Police said there are active attachments on file for especially aggravated robbery and attempted murder through juvenile court.
The Chattanooga Police Department is requesting the community's assistance in locating both suspects in this carjacking. Per Tennessee Code 37-1-154 (b), law enforcement information about juveniles charged with especially aggravated robbery is not subject to the non-disclosure law.
