Coker, Margarette Zaell Cheek

Margarette Azell Cheek Coker, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019. She was born to the late Henry Floyd and Margarette Elizabeth Cheek in Hamilton County, and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. Margarette was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed. 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Coker and siblings, “big” Clyde, “little” Clyde, Lorraine and Charles. 

Margarette is survived by her children, Kenneth (Jill) Coker and Donna (Stan) Crumbley; grandchildren, Laura Coker and James Mitchel DeShields; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.
