Bill David Crumley, 84, of Hixson departed his earthly home to meet his Lord and Savior on May

21, 2019 after several months of illness.

Bill was born on April 12 1935 to the late William David Crumley and Bess (Cheek) Crumley. He graduated from Polk County High School, attended Georgia Tech, and graduated from the

University of Chattanooga. Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, attended Quartermaster School in Fort Lee Virginia and assigned as Aide De Camp to Brigadier General Edward S. Ehlen at Sharp General Depot in California. On release from active duty he worked for Aetna Insurance for 14 years, then briefly at Dupont and retired after 25 years from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company. He married the love of his life Rose Perry Crumley on July 16,

1962, in Sacramento, Ca., and celebrated 55 years of marriage before her death in 2017.

He had two children, Steven David (Patricia) Crumley and Lisa Kay (Timothy) Vincent and four

grandchildren, Jonah D. and Alana R. Vincent and Sydney A. and Olivia G. Crumley.

He considered his family his greatest accomplishment in life and worked hard to assure their

success. His faith in the Lord was strong and he instilled his love for the Lord in his family, who

all are actively serving the Lord. Along with his wife he spent many years working with their

children's schools in the PTA’s and band booster clubs, he served as the president of the

Hixson High School band boosters for four years where he was responsible for trips to Disney

World, Hawaii, and fundraising for the purchase of new uniforms. He was a long time member of

Central Baptist Church in Hixson. He was also a 32nd degree Shriner, member of Alhambra

Shriners Chattanooga Scottish Rite Society and Ocoee Lodge 212 Masons. He was an

especially kind and warm person, always serving others, and was loved by so many of those

whose lives he touched.
