Mitchell Garland Laster, 67, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

 

He graduated from South Pittsburg High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Tuskegee University. He worked for several years as a supervisor at US Gypsum.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Annie Mae Laster; and his brothers, Hugh Laster, Charles Richard Laster, and Marvin Laster.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Jasmine (Dasmin) McCowan of Chattanooga, and Haley Laster of Atlanta; former wife, Yvonne T. Laster of Chattanooga; sister, Delores (William) Crews; sister-in-law, Lisa Skyles; nieces, Billy Anne Crews, Aurelia Crews, China (Brett) Talley; nephew, Emmanuel Laster; great-nieces, Anica Crews and Kinsley Talley; great-nephew, Brantley Talley; several other family members and many friends.

 

A memorial service will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, May 26, at 2 p.m. Central time.

 

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
