Mark Wayne Morris, 67, of LaFayette, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was born in Seymour, In. to the late Patricia Ann Morris. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1970 -1976, where he was honorably discharged with Rank of E-4. While serving, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Marksman, Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Good Conduct Medal. He had resided most of his life in the Cartersville and Canton, Ga. communities. He retired from Rogers Mechanical of Villa Rica, Ga., where he was a licensed plumber. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a Georgia Bulldawgs fan, Atlanta Braves fan and Jimmy Johnson – NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Tonnie Cates, Billie Kay Coker and Tina Marie Coker.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Boyles Morris, of LaFayette; sons, Jason (Chante Diblik) Morris, of Jasper, Greg Morris, of Cartersville and Eric Morris, of LaFayette; brothers, Lee (Christian) Coker, of Dawsonville, David (Annette) Coker, of Hahira, Ga., Gary Coker, of Dawsonville and Brian (Brenda) Coker, of Gainesville; grandchildren, Austin Tyler Morris, Jessica Baylee Morris and Isiah Parker Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from noon-2 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
