Anthony “Ant” Jacques Martin

The Lord called Anthony “Ant” Jacques Martin home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, after fighting a battle with cancer.

Anthony was a lifetime resident of Jasper, Tn., a graduate from the Class of 1996 at Marion County High School and one of the largest Warrior Fans from this valley.  He was also on the “92, 94 and 95” Marion County High School Football State Championship Team.

Anthony was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Anthony leaves a legacy of memories behind with his family, friends and the “Coach” of the children he coached in Jasper Little League Football

He also had the love for the “Texas Longhorns” and North Carolina Tarheels basketball team.

Anthony was a true gentleman, had a love of people along with life and everyone in the Marion County community loved him. As most will tell you, God didn’t make very many men like Anthony.   Anthony is a true hero in this valley. Anthony’s heart and soul will be missed forever in the Marion County area.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Reverend Leonard Martin and Andrew Powell.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Joseph “Joe” and Doreia Martin and Priscilla McGhee; daughter, Amaura Martin; son, Ashton Martin; brothers, Joseph A. Martin and Adrian Davis; sister, Camille Davis, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too large to mention.

The family has requested donations be made to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tn. for Anthony’s funeral arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. CDT and Tuesday, May 14, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tn.

The funeral will be conducted in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Adrian Davis and Reverend Larry Owens officiating.

Anthony will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper after the service.
