A 14-year-old has been charged with shooting two 13-year-olds just outside the Riverbend Festival on Saturday night as the bands played nearby.
Police said the shooter pulled a gun on an officer who ran after him.
At approximately 9:48 p.m., police responded to the area of
2 West Aquarium Way on reports of shots fired.
Police said, "After diligent and thorough work by Neighborhood Policing Officers and Violent Crimes Investigators, a suspect was arrested and placed into custody."
Upon arrival, police observed a large crowd of juveniles running from the area. Officers located two youths with gunshot wounds.
Hamilton County EMS responded and transported both victims to a local hospital.
Officers secured the scene and called for the CPD Violent Crimes Bureau to respond.
Police said, "Investigators learned that a suspect had been detained by officers. During a foot pursuit of the suspect, an officer advised that the suspect pulled a gun on him."
After witness interviews and evaluation of evidence the juvenile suspect was arrested and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. He is being charged with two counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

There was a heavy stream of traffic of people hastily exiting the area just after the shooting broke out.
The shooting came despite a large police presence at and nearby the festival, which was shortened to four days this year.
