Flag Day Patriotic Celebration Set For Friday

On Friday, June 14, 2019, Desmond T. Doss American Legion Post 257 of Collegedale and Ooltewah Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1697 will jointly conduct the Flag Day commemoration at Walmart Supercenter #3835 on Little Debbie Parkway in Collegedale.

"We will feature flags and banners, signs and posters, military vehicles and patriotic music as a way to encourage the public to financially donate towards all the flags flying in the Collegedale Veterans Memorial Park," organizers said.

"We will also sign up eligible Veterans to the American Legion and the VFW, besides assisting them with applying for VA health benefits and obtaining records of medals and military service."
