French, Lena Frances (Cleveland)

Lena Frances French, of Cleveland, died on June 10, 2019.

Lena spent most of her working years in Cleveland, TN area where she worked as a newspaper carrier for The Chattanooga Times, The Chattanooga News-Free Press, Cleveland Daily Banner, and the Knoxville News Sentinel. While she worked as a newspaper carrier she also sold Princess House Crystal and Stanley Home Products both of which she was honored many times as outstanding sales person in the area and even the southeast region for Stanley Home Products. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of various Church of God churches in Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee over the years. 

She was best known for her listening ear and her ability to have never met a stranger. She will be missed by many long-time friends, especially her oldest and dearest friend of 60 years, Marlene Partin. They read the Bible together every day from beginning to end many times and always striving to learn more. 

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jerry and Ellen Warren, brother Carl Mack and sister-in-law Luella Warren all of Greenville, AL, her former husband, Charles E. French of Cleveland, TN and her step son, Charles O. French of Nashville, TN.

She is survived by her half-brother Samson Warren of Dothan, AL. She leaves behind six children: step daughters Harriet French (Bob) Taylor and Fay French (Herb, Jr.) Benton, sons Jeremiah French, Paul (Stacy) French of Cleveland, TN, son David French of New Bern, NC and daughter Carmen (Karren) Endres-French of Phenix City, AL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Rob Taylor, Tamara (Ellis) Humphres (Cleveland, TN), Haley French (Miraglia) (Nashville, TN), Jessica French (Cleveland, TN), Kelsey French (Colorado Springs, CO), Morgan (Steven) Winfield and Miranda Spurlin (Phenix City, AL) She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Charlie Miraglia (Nashville, TN), Hattie and Elise Humphres (Cleveland, TN); Kaisley Winfield (Phenix City, AL). 

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held on Sunday June 23, at 2 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Rev. Wesley Choplin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday June 23, at the funeral home.
