Charles Powell of Huntsville, passed away on June 16, 2019.
Mr. Powell was born on November 14, 1937 in Summerville, GA to Margaret Jackson and Clyde E. Powell. He retired after 53 years at Ragland Brothers starting as a stock boy and becoming director of Produce. He loved his co-workers, fishing, bird watching, Tennessee football, his church, friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marie Powell; son David (Tami) Powell of Flintstone GA; daughter Pamela (Tighe) Owen of Huntsville, AL; son Victor (Nancy) Powell of Whitwell, TN; daughter Desiree (Steve) Vassar of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren John Powell ; Matt Powell; Tighe Owen ; Callie Owen; great grandchildren; Desiree Powell; Raylan Powell; brothers Ray, Robert, and Ronnie Powell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 20, at 2-3 p.m. central time with memorial service immediately following at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 2275 Cecil Ashburn Drive SE, Huntsville, AL 35802.
Graveside services will be on Friday, June 22, at 1 p.m. ET at Lakewood Memorial Gardens South, 325 Greens Lake Road, Rossville, Ga. 30741.
