Senator Lamar Alexander on Wednesday said Bill Kilbride is “one step away” from being confirmed by the Senate to serve as a member of the TVA board of directors after the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works approved his nomination on Wednesday.
Senator Alexander said, “Bill is an accomplished businessman and has provided strong leadership to his community as CEO of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce.
He understands TVA’s mission -- providing low cost, reliable, and clean power to the residents and businesses in the seven state TVA region. I have no doubt he will be an outstanding TVA board member. I’m glad this committee approved his nomination today, and I look forward to him being confirmed by the full Senate.”
After President Trump announced his intent to nominate Mr. Kilbride, Senator Alexander said he will provide “strategic leadership” to the TVA board of directors.
