Helen Sherlin
Helen Christine Scoggins Sherlin, 82, went home to be with her Lord with her family by her side on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
She was born on April 17, 1937, to the late Richard and Maebelle Scoggins and was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Jim Sherlin, and her brother, Gene Scoggins.
Christine was an avid reader and loved country music. Yellow roses was her favorite flower. Even though Christine had struggles in her life she never lost her smile or her sense of humor even though she was sick and not long for this world. Today heaven is a better place with Christine and her smile being there.
She was a great daughter, sister, mother and a caregiver to her family. She helped raise and take care of her younger siblings. She was a caregiver to her mother and grandmother till their last days. She will be forever missed and loved by her family until we all meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Stacy Scoggins and Lori Beaver and her husband Keith, two grandsons, Steven Whitt Cross, Justin T. Scoggins; granddaughter, Katlyn Beavers, two great-granddaughters, Alyissa Scoggins and Zoey Cross, three great-grandsons, Jordon Scoggins, Beckett Cross and Levi Cross, her sisters, Dorothy Quinn, Joyce Davis, Betty Scoggins, Nancy Sykes, Cookie Hullender and Wanda Marks, her brothers, Charlie Scoggins, Carl Scoggins, Kenneth Scoggins, and her special life-long friend Mrs. Mable Lindsey.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
The interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald Tn., with family and friends servings as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
