Red Bank Vice Mayor Terry Pope died suddenly at his home on Saturday afternoon.
Former Mayor John Roberts said, "It is with great sadness to inform you that current Vice Mayor Terry Pope of Red Bank, has passed away."
Mr. Pope went on the Red Bank Commission in November 2014, defeating former Commissioner Floy Pierce by 1,000 votes in District 1.
He previously served on the city's Planning Commission.
